On a hill above the entrance of the Villnöss valley lies the idyllic village Teis. From here you can enjoy a magnificent panoramic view over the Eisacktal valley and Brixen/Bressanone: from the mighty Zillertal Alps (A) to the jagged Odle peaks.
The beautiful landscape invites to discover nature by hiking through woods and fields. The sunny south-facing slope allows the cultivation of vine and the ripening of chestnuts, also at this altitude.
A visit is well worth the Hill of the Holy Sepulchre, a historical hill with the Holy Sepulchre Chaple and military trenches from World War One.
The Teis Mineral Museum exhibits an impressive collection of the famous Teis Geods and fossils.
Every year the "Farmers' Festival" takes place at Teis with the farmers' market and crafts, tasty traditional specialties and live music.
Below Tiso is the hamlet Nafen (797 m), with the church of San Bartolomeo, a jewel of art history.
